Yesterday several of the partners of Kalundborg Symbiosis: the Mayor of Kalundborg, Martin Damm, the CEO of Ørsted (formerly known as DONG), the local director of Novo Nordisk, as well as the directors of Kalundborg Utilities and Novozymes, broke ground on the coal-free Asnæsværk. As mentioned previously, the transition from coal to biomass will result in a reduction of 800.000 tonnes of CO2-emissions every year, corresponding to more than 400.000 cars.
