Bjarke Skaanning has been appointed Head of Secretariat for Kalundborg Symbiosis as of August 1, 2025. He replaces Lisbeth Randers, who has retired after more than ten years at the head of the partnership.
He brings extensive experience from the Red Cross' international humanitarian efforts and has spent his career developing and strengthening partnerships across sectors. As Head of Secretariat, he now leads the dynamic network of 17 partners working to make production in Denmark more circular and inspire the rest of the world to follow suit.
"The role requires strategic vision, political insight and an ability to build trust and drive through collaboration. Competencies that we believe Bjarke Skaanning brings to Kalundborg Symbiosis," says Chairman of the Board Michael Hallgren and adds: "This combination of global perspectives and local connections will be crucial for Symbiosis' continued development."
