Kalundborg Refinery
Kalundborg Refinery is Denmark's largest refinery. The plant can process 107,000 barrels of crude oil and condensate per day, and produces gasoline, diesel, propane/butane, fuel oil and fuel oil. Annual production capacity is up to 5.5 million tonnes of petroleum products. The refinery is the only one in Europe where the residual sulphur from the desulphurisation plant is converted into liquid and high efficiency fertiliser.
The Kalundborg Symbiosis gives Kalundborg Refinery good access to bionatural gas, cooling and surface water and various other types of special water. The Kalundborg Symbiosis is helping to make the operation of the refinery more efficient, where 370 employees produce some of the world's cleanest petrol and diesel, virtually free of sulphur.
