Novo Nordisk's production facilities in Kalundborg were founded in 1969. Today, the facilities cover an area of 1,200,000m2 and employ around 3,500 people. In Kalundborg, Novo Nordisk produces products for the treatment of severe obesity and diabetes, as well as several biopharmaceutical products. More than 35 million patients worldwide use products that start at Novo Nordisk in Kalundborg. Since the turn of the millennium, Novo Nordisk has invested more than DKK 18 billion in its production facilities in Kalundborg. Recently, Novo Nordisk also announced an investment of DKK 18 billion in the construction of four new factories and the expansion of three existing factories.
