Kalundborg Utility supplies approximately 6,150 households with drinking water and distributes district heating to approximately 5,050 households in Kalundborg city, as well as treating wastewater from the entire Kalundborg municipality. In addition, the utility supplies surface water to some of the large companies in Kalundborg.
Kalundborg Utility also has one of Northern Europe's largest and most advanced treatment plants, which uses ozone (O3) to convert highly degradable organic compounds. In addition, the ozone system is used for the removal of pharmaceutical residues - Active Pharmaceuticals Ingredients (API).
