Kalundborg Bioenergy
The biogas and fertilizer potential of residual biomass from Novonesis (NovoGro®) and Novo Nordisk (yeast cream) is utilized and realized at a local biogas plant. The biogas plant produces biogas that is subsequently upgraded to natural gas quality through a refining process where carbon dioxide (CO2) and hydrogen sulphide are removed from the product. The biomethane is sent to local companies (Gyproc and Kalundborg Refinery) and on to consumers through the natural gas network. Sulphur from the hydrogen sulphide fraction is collected and utilized as a sub-component in fertilizer products produced from the biogasified residual biomass. Kalundborg Bioenergi is 100% owned and operated by Bigadan.
